Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the design, analysis, and development of mechanical systems for spacecraft and related technologies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects in the aerospace industry, playing a critical role in advancing space exploration and engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Design spacecraft mechanical systems, structures, and mechanisms, ensuring they meet performance, weight, and reliability criteria.
  • Thermal and Structural Analysis: Perform detailed thermal, structural, and dynamic analyses to evaluate the performance and durability of mechanical components under space conditions.
  • Prototype Fabrication and Testing: Oversee the fabrication and testing of mechanical prototypes, ensuring compliance with design specifications and mission requirements.
  • Integration and Assembly: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems with other spacecraft subsystems such as avionics, propulsion, and payloads.
  • Material Selection: Research and select advanced materials suitable for space environments, balancing strength, weight, and thermal properties.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot mechanical issues during testing and mission phases, implementing timely and effective solutions.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed technical reports and design documentation, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design, analysis, and testing, preferably in the aerospace or space industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar) and simulation tools (ANSYS, NASTRAN, or ABAQUS).
  • Strong knowledge of spacecraft mechanical systems, including thermal control, structural components, and deployable mechanisms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with space-grade materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with the requirements for Low Earth Orbit (LEO), Geostationary Orbit (GEO), and deep-space missions.
  • Knowledge of space mission standards, such as ECSS or NASA guidelines.
  • Hands-on experience in vibration, thermal vacuum, and shock testing of aerospace components.
